To clarify on the rules: As per the ToU you may not "Attempt to barter accounts, account settings, permissions, accessories, upgrades, enhancements, items, assets, etc. for anything which has monetary value or for anything outside of the game itself." Although trading accounts for in-game items is technically legal, trading accounts that have recently been upgraded (within 60 days) is not a way to circumvent this rule and is a bannable offense as of this announcement.

Targeting other players for battle now incurs a delay with a slightly random range. This delay is reducable via the haste skill. This will make for a fairer fights during the Acumen Inquest, allowing the first strike to have less to do with ping and illegal macros and left instead up to skills and some chance. Respect the barney bar, or be the laughing stock of the arena.

There is an unofficial RWK discord server controlled mainly by players who were banned for running bots on RWK and often trying to profit from it. They got themselves banned and dozens others who used their services or botting add-ons. This discord server provides no value to new players that cannot be found on legitimate sites like Jimcav's or in RWK chat, and in fact they are openly trying to discourage players from enjoying the game. We are monitoring the server and will begin handing out bans for anyone who has broken RWK rules on that discord server. We will also be banning anyone who promotes the server on RWK. Players have 1 week to delete their chat history on the server and leave to ensure no repercussions.

Very soon the power to obliterate a random kingdom on a chosen plane (not Forge) will be available. It will cost 10 Tectons. The name of the person who did the deed will remain anonymous, however, he will be teleported to the location, known only to him and the former owner of the kingdom. If he wishes to remain anonymous he'll have to leave, and if he wishes to wage war he'll need to quickly build.

This new Greater Tecton will have an increased chance to drop a Devil's Deliverence, and the chance to get a Devil's Deliverence from a normal Tecton or Stone has be removed. This will ensure that destruction is required in order to get a DD in this manner, rather than spamming it on a meaningless kingdom which was dickless. 191 DDs were dropped on S1 and 159 were dropped on S2 in this manner.

The Silence GF does not affect the Greater Tecton.

Greater Tectons now also provide aftershock for enhanced nuking, but you may still want/need to use normal tectons in the adjacent kingdoms afterwards for successful nuking.

Greater Tectons can hit unsettled kingdoms but cannot hit special locations.

Greater Tectons will give you 5x chances to sleeve cards.

SoSe now comes with a Greater Tecton. Celebrate your ascendance by shitting on someone else.

New Host drama update: We had completed a deal with the new host and even paid for the first month. We were then contacted and told that they were going to transfer us to another section of their company (which was recently acquired) and we'd have to be moved to a different billing platform. New billing required a new contract and the new contract's terms, in spite of what was promised, were not the same as the original: 1/20th the bandwidth. That's not going to work. We're not sure if they are incompetent or scummy at this point, and either way it's not worth continuing negotiation.

Fortunately, we came up with a possible solution to the primary issue faced by our current host which is bouts of packet loss. We have been testing a dual routing method whereby we send duplicate packets across two different routes, the first being the usual direct connection to the server and the second being forced along a different path via one of several of our proxy servers. We have had exceptional results on Nodiatis and wanted to implement this here on RWK as well. Unfortunately, when attempting to implement dual routing on RWK we ran into an issue with the way RWK processes packets. It is not designed to handle multiple duplicate packets. People who are having issues can use a proxy route of https://r2p3.racewarkingdoms.com/ which will take your packets on a different path that should only add about 6ms but could avoid problem routers and improve playability.

You can now increase your Forge Gem approbations beyond rank 9. Doing so increases a new stat called Gem Resist which reduces the chance of your opponent successfully using their Forge Gem approbations.

The proc rates on all Forge Gem approbations have been tweaked to be more accurate to the listed percentage.

There is now a $199.99 purchase option which will lower your settled Forge kingdom count by 11. This purchase does NOT break ashen rocks. This was done rather than having a 10 reduction version which did break rocks because kingdom count is reduced prior to the crack, which would have caused possible confusion and failed rolls.

Ashen rocks will once again only crack when purchasing items that are normally $50 or over. This is to prevent aqua lung purchase spam for the purpose of lowering Forge Settled Kingdom count.

The DDD and 20x EEoST purchase option now also reduces your Forge Settled Kingdom count by 3, and it also still cracks rocks which has the potential to lower it again. You can consider this option if that is your primary goal.

An issue preventing the /t35 command from working properly has been fixed. This is the command you can use to open the Xsolla store, which should always be a last resort and only used if you can't use PayPal since they reject so many legitimate orders erroneously.

An issue with the server sending too much information to the client during serverwide messages, specifically location info, has been reported, rewarded, and fixed.

New client has optimizations in place to help with some flickering issues with sleeved cards and other items.

Certain hotkey actions were causing the action buttons to grey out and never recover, essentially locking the client. The problem was found and fixed with this patch.

We are testing a new delay bar method with absolute positioning which may reduce choppiness due to layout updates.

An actual bug was found that was both slowing down and making the delay bar choppy during polling requests. It has been fixed and things are running much smoother. The previous optimizations are now just an added bonus.

We've made a modification to antibot checks that should prevent the issue with having to sometimes click the answer multiple times and may also help those with slow connections load the image faster.

The client has been improved to work better in all browsers, specifically Chrome and mobile browsers which throttle CPU actions. A poker timer problem was resolved. The Nodiatis ad at the bottom no longer occupies invisible space.

Further enhancements have been made to the client. More security has been added against malicious attacks against the client. Also, if the same character is logged on from two browsers, the first browser will automatically disconnect to prevent the connection errors that would otherwise occur.

An issue was found involving the Attacking Accuracy and Casting Accuracy skills. Their descriptions on the help page have been modified to more accurately represent what they do: they directly modify certain stats. As of recent changes, however, the archer classes were not receiving the proper benefit from Attacking Accuracy in some cases. This has been fixed.

Major multiboxing policy announcement: Multiboxing will always be allowed in RWK. Developers who allow multiboxing only to ban it after getting pushback from a vocal group of intolerant protestors are shameful and disgusting. It will always be a matter of opinion, but our opinion will always be that multiboxing with no automation (i.e. 1 human button press equals 1 button press across multiple characters, with no logic) is a legitimate way to play games. "But Glitchless, a person could use a supar computar to make 112 characters kill a creature, and he'd get 112 times as much goald!" That is a very astute observation, young obi-wan, but you'll need to set your phasers to stunlock. Game suggestions that, perhaps, benefit single character controllers due to complex action/reaction are welcome. Suggestions to ban multiboxing will be summarily ignored.

An issue was found when combining monks and theurg builds that created an unintended mutant. It has been fixed.

There will now only be one "buy items" button for you to press which will take you to our older storefront. Unfortunately, players were experiencing too many issues with Xsolla's antifraud false positives that we had to remove that storefront as a default option. If you are outside the US and unable to make purchases with our standard storefront, you can type /t35 to open the Xsolla store, but it should only be used as a last resort.

The beginning of the previous Inquest involved a massive and unacceptable amount of lag. We were able to reduce the effect of the lag by disabling some unnecessary background processes, however, it was not a real fix to the problem which only gets worse as more and more people return to the game. The real culprit is RWK's server code, which has now been sychronized to prevent data errors that occurred in the past but in order to remain both effecient and error free, it needs a complete revamp. More details were recently discussed on the forums. We're happy to announce that we have begun this arduous process, and when complete, the problem of lag when many players or several multiboxers are active should be completely resolved. We are dedicated to keeping this classic title "fully operational" as they say on Star Track.

Please be advised, the ToU was updated, prohibiting the bartering of in-game goods for anything of real monetary value. This is not an action we wanted to take, but it is necessary for legal purposes. For more info, see the ToU below and the posts on the forums.

The color of kingdoms on maps follows new rules now. Surface will no longer have a dark grey for land, since so much of the land is covered that it just creates more noise than info. Hidden, unsettled, or NOBODY kingdoms will be pure black. The kingdoms of a recently banned player which are yet to be walked will be pure white.

New map features have been added to help plex owners find scattered kingdoms and do general plex maintenance. Refresh any of the View Tops -> Maps pages and you will see a larger and more crisp image of the plane. You can get the RGB color value of a kingdom by mouseovering or clicking, and you can enter that value into the filter boxes if you wish to only see kingdoms of that particular color.

One or more people running bots and a botting service, offering to log your character and help you advance, have been banned today. We monitored and did manual antibot checks on the macroing characters over a period of many days, and were able to verify with 100% certainty that the activity was automated, and also not simply multiboxing. Those who knowingly or unwittingly recently gave these people access to their accounts, allowing them to macro, were also banned.

A new set of armor and weapons has been added to the game. These items require strong tradeskills, a piece of corresponding Shadow gear, a Forge kingdom, a lot of gold, a lot of gems, and a lot of time to create. The price increases for every piece you create, so pick your pieces carefully. Forge gear adds a new combat mechanic which can cripple your foe, greatly impairing stats and abilities. They are not tradable.

To reduce costly mistakes, kingdoms in The Forge will no longer be lost to automatic peasant revolts. They are still at risk of being couped by a third party, but you will receive warnings when a Forge kingdom is below 50% morale. All Forge coup activity is now announced server wide.

The following client interface improvements have been made. Please relog to update your clients:

-Three extra action bars and two extra kingdom action bar have been added. This will allow you to set multiple actions up for easier clicking or to teleport to static locations.
-Fight buttons slightly enlarged.
-/disable and /enable will remember the setting on a per browser basis using cookies.
-Rune Keeper and Surface Hermit added to give/trade lists by default.
-Movement buttons have been enlarged when on mobile.
-Max level is shown. This is only updated on login.
-The top window has an extra row showing totals of important inventory items.
-A /lock and /unlock command have been added to lock your chat quickslots as they currently are.

A major performance enhancement has been made to the encrypted connection method. HTTPS should now be just as fast as HTTP for all users, and both will be faster than before due to the removal of extra overhead from redundant protocol handshakes. There should be no reason now not to use the default encrypted connection method.

Race War Kingdoms is undergoing a security overhaul. This will help ensure the safety of your accounts and info. The following will be taking effect prior to the next Inquest on the 23rd:

-The default landing page of RWK will provide an HTTPS encrypted connection. An unencrypted link is still provided, however, connecting in that method is not advisable as it can expose all communication between your browser and our server, including your password.
-No third party browser addons or extensions that alter the RWK interface will be allowed. These also have the potential to expose your password and info. You are safe running popular adblockers such as uBlock Origin and Adblock, but RWK specific addons must be uninstalled and all others should be disabled by the time of the Inquest.
-Please vote on the additions you want to see made to the RWK interface on the forums. We will implement as many as possible by the time of the Inquest.
-If you have logged on via plain HTTP or used third party addons, we advise you to change your passwords and account keys immediately after their removal.
-X/Y locations under Teleport will remain the same when moving so you can leave particular locations set for fast teleporting.

Why the changes now?
With the addition of new payment providers, it is necessary for us to integrate the payflow process into the RWK interface. This requires that we do everything in our power to safeguard your data. Just as we vow not to sell your information, we vow not to give it away. We will be happy to collaborate with addon creators to provide similar functionality built directly into the default RWK interface in a way which does not pose a threat to player security.

For official Inquest fights, there will be an X% chance to ACUMEN NEGATE your foe's mesmerize or void/devoid. X is equal to 2x the number of people who have won the Inquest the past year (up to 22) whose class matches that of your foe. Note that the exact listed class is used, so variants of fighters, casters, etc are considered different classes.

Players can now only receive runes as payout for playing poker. Players can still buy-in to poker with ash if desired, however. This will prevent ash transfering. Too much of the RWK economy was dependant on ash, which was too easy to exploit by mass farming lotto on alts and transfering as opposed to actual gameplay. This is part of a shift back to gold as the more important currency in the game, which will be realized with the coming of the new armor by the end of February.

Due to a hardware failure, all player and zone files needed to be rolled back to the backups from this morning. Due to an issue with Surface kingdoms during Inquest, all surface kingdoms were rolled back an additional day. Let us know if you are experiencing issues beyond what would be expected from these rollbacks.

All beast lists have been recleared since rollback.

Dying in the Inquest will now move you to the typical safe zone, however, you will not be able to target players in that zone.

A server crash (believed to be a random hardware issue ...or someone at the datacenter tripping over a cord, you never know) caused some player and zone files to become corrupted. We manually recoverd those files from our daily backups. Anyone who is missing items should e-mail help@racewarkingdoms.com for assistance. Note the changes from 12/3/2017 which were supposed to eliminate this problem completely had been undone during our recent issues with SSD performance. We have reinstated the 12/3/2017 patch to reduce the risk of data corruption during hardware or power failures and we will continue to monitor the situation to ensure no performance issues are caused by it.

The mechanics of deposit have been changed. The amount you enter to deposit will be rounded down to the maximum that you could possibly deposit automatically.

CAUTION: The mechanics of /dt have been changed. If you have under 1 billion gold you will go down to 0 gold. If you have over, you will go down to 1 billion gold.

The SSD raid that was setup and working fine for S2 yesterday decided that its member disks were no longer compatible after reboot. This was an inconvenience and required manual attention, but no data was lost, so there were no rollbacks. The Deathstar is once again fully operational.

SSD reconfiguration is complete. With some tweaks to the way our daily map update is done, we've managed to greatly increase the speed. Their time of day should no longer be a concern since they should be so fast.

Class balance patch! Five new quest items have been added to the game. All come from a new NPC named the Forge Hermit located in a southwest hut. Info will be added to the /help site shortly.

By the end of this month (maybe) we intend to have a new purchasable item. It will not provide power, but it will provide convenience!

After the DMU, we'll be changing the effects of the Theurg and Monk quest items greatly. See the help page. Also, at the end of the month, we'll be increasing the amount of ash required to get a refund on those quest items to 100k ash.

Daily map updates are still taking too long. We have a hardware upgrade planned (no ETA, could be as early as today or later this month) that should deal with this issue.

EEoA purchases no longer show up in yellow, so they are private.

RuneScape classic is shutting down, yet RWK is still getting patches! RuneScape was the biggest game in the world by far at one point, and the fact that a bloated company like Jagex can't keep it all its versions running efficiently and profitably is pathetic. RWK will never shut down. Those of you who played from the very beginning probably remember the pure text, super crappy original version of RWK that ran for just a short while. It was shut down when this version of RWK came out, and the code was eventually lost. Shutting that down was a horrible mistake--one that was learned from. RWK shall endure. Class balance patch today!

Delay bar functionality has been improved to be more forgiving of people with high or erratic latency. 10 second penalties will be less common. A bug that caused the bar to not deplete at the proper rate when receiving a 10 sec penalty which resulted in repeated 10 sec penalties has been fixed.

The hourly action limit has been increased to 6000.

Hot keys activate with the downstroke again, which should feel like faster response. They still will not repeat actions when held down. Some other issues that were introduced with yesterday's client patch have been fixed involving window scrolling and chat activation.

The built-in hot keys have been changed to only send actions when the key is fully pressed and released. This was in response to a person being banned and unbanned after it was suggested that an object on the keyboard could have caused the repeated antibot failures. The logs of the activity in this particular case matched with such behavior (same direction being moved over and over). This excuse won't work in the future with these changes to hot keys, however. Be sure if you are using any addons that they do not have the potential to cause this issue with their hot keys.

Hot keys will no longer function when the Mac command key is down.

The /stats and /relic commands have been updated to provide more accurate data. Stats are no longer rounded. The power index formula has been modified to show a better representation of true power. This has no affect on actual combat.

You can now give class specific quest items to the Keep Keeper if you want to get rid of them after changing classes to free up inventory slots.

Some enhancements have been made to the client, including the addition of simple hot keys and the expansion to up to three quick chat command buttons. See the actions page for a list of the hot keys. You can enable and disable hot keys by clicking the target icon next to the map button.

The /dt (discards trivial gold, up to 499,999,999) and /app (displays approbations) commands have been added to the game. Additional hot keys have been added and an issue with the window scrolling while moving has been fixed.

The SoSe deal got even better - players will now receive between half and full ash value of existing purchased upgrades when buying the SoSe package. Now when cracking ashen rocks from making real money in-game purchases, you will have the chance to lower your recorded number of settled Forge kingdoms. You will begin flipping a coin, for a maximum number of tries equal to your current recorded number of settled Forge kingdoms. If you get heads, you will stop flipping and have your number reduced by 1, making it easier to settle. If you get all tails, you're out of luck.

The drop rate of Forge gems was reduced by 33% several days ago, but we have returned it to its previous rarity, the same as it was at the very beginning.

Name swapping is available once again. The recorded number of settled Forge kingdoms remains attached to the name, preventing the exploit of using name swaps to more easily settle Forge KDs. Update: Players who have settled Forge KDs are not eligible for name swaps unless both have SoSe.

The automatic refresh rate of the game has been greatly enhanced. Your client should update very quickly as long as you have done some action in the past 15 minutes, resulting in more quickly seeing events such as beast spawns or Inquest messages, etc.

To address concerns regarding players using intelligent macros to move them immediately to beast spawns, we have changed the way beasts spawn slightly. Rather than announcing the exact location the beast has spawned, a location near the beast (1 square away vertically, horizontally or diagonally) will be announced. Players using auto teleport commands will be ported directly to the announced spot where they will then have to search the nine possible locations (including the existing square in the case the beast did not move).

The client has been optimized further and uses a more advanced means of communicating with the server which will not produce any clicking noises, cursor blinking, or refreshes. These changes should enhance gameplay and be compatible with all browsers.

A minor bug where the skill names were not showing has been fixed.

The prize for winning an Inquest has been increased to $200 in EEoAs.

This month's plex award will be given to the king in the Forge with the largest visible perfect square plex. There will not be a size minimum on this plane to win like on the others.

A new plane now exists: The Forge.
On this new plane the mechanics of kingdom ownership are very different. Here are the differences we are willing to elaborate on:
-All kingdom assets (other than Runes) are worth 1 million times more than normal.
-All kingdom assets cost more to purchase as their total goes up.
-Kingdoms here cannot be traded.
-Each hour when interest is gained, there is a chance to harvest a very rare element. This chance increases slightly based on the amount of teasury.
-Certain locations here that are closer to the source of riches have bonuses toward interest or element harvesting.
-Kingmanship increases the interest bonus if present, but does not affect the kingdom in any other way.
-Three new skills exist which increase element harvesting bonuses.
-Interest gained here is not affected by normal bonuses. It starts out very high but decreases as teasury increases, making them more profitable than normal kingdoms only for players without extreme wealth.
-Settle kingdoms WISELY. Attempting to settle costs gold, and the chances of being successful decrease exponentially each time you successfully settle a kingdom PERMANENTLY, making it extremely difficult to own more than a handful of kingdoms on this plane.
-Populations consume less food.
-Due to the nature of the higher and varying resource costs, many kingdom management / commands will not function in the Forge
-Less morale is lost in the Forge from guard slayings. Kings should still take care to rune up.
-Forge kingdoms cannot be quaked directly, however, they will still be considered under major assault and have army and fortification penalties if attacked by someone who has quaked.
-Paying serfs is 20x more costly, bribing them is 50x times so.
-Overthrowing a kingdom via war will cause the KD to be occupied by NOBODY as opposed to the attacker to prevent using it as a settling exploit. Recovering the conquered kingdom's resources will require you to settle it, which in itself is expensive. War on this plane is designed to occur mainly between neighbors battling over high bonus territory. Fighting on foreign soil is expensive.
-All war activity in the Forge will be announced server wide, regardless of girlfriend bonuses.
-There is a significant gold and experience bonus from creatures in the Forge. It has been buffed from its original amount at release - Exp bonus is greater than Hel and gold bonus is greater than Hev.

Some client improvements have been made. Image mouseovers have been fixed. Surface chat is now grey, the antibot checks will be easier on mobile devices and the troublesome alert popups will no longer be an issue on mobile either. Also a /sus command has been added. Thank you to player contributions and suggestions that helped us to make these comfort changes.

Using an account key to recover a password will now reset the password to something new instead of recovering it. Scammers were using this feature hoping victims would change the password before changing their key so they could recover the new password for themselves using the key.

Two new beasts have been added. Killing them unlocks a repeatable quest which allows you to gain new powers.
